The 7 Most Breath-Taking South of France Chateau Wedding Venues Some South of France wedding photographers visit the area for weddings, but it's not the place they call home. I'm lucky enough to live for part of the year and work in the Dordogne countryside, which means I know the region like the back of my hand and have scouted out the wedding venues that truly do stand out. In this blog post, I want to share with you the most breath-taking South of France chateau wedding venues. The region is blessed with more stunning chateaus than I could count and when you're planning your destination wedding, you won't have time to visit them all. I hope these venues will give you inspiration as you draw up your short list. Have fun! The Fairytale Chateau A dreamy vision of golden stone, twirling turrets and charming terraced gardens, you'll know the moment you step out the car why Marry Me In France's The Fairytale Chateau has its name. One of the most flexible South of France chateau wedding venues, you can exchange vows in one of the opulent rooms, tie the knot outside with river views or even take over the characterful barn with 100 of your family and friends.

Chateau la Durantie Chateau la Durantie is the ultimate wedding venue for a weekend-long party. In fact, that's exactly what one of my wedding couples did - they made the chateau their own for three days with their nearest and dearest. Charlotte and Jamie married outside in the chateau's picturesque garden arbour and held their reception in the gardens too. Taking advantage of the beautiful bedrooms and suites on offer in the chateau and coach house, the couple made a weekend of it with barbecues and pool parties - a wedding none of their guests will ever forget!

The Majestic Chateau Just over an hour from Bordeaux, Marry Me In France's The Majestic Chateau has to be one of the ultimate South of France chateau wedding venues if you're planning a big guest list - there's room for 180 guests! The chateau itself is a picture-postcard building with beautiful symmetry. Let's not forget the gardens, either. With their own turquoise lake, they offer the most stunning backdrop for Champagne and photos. And then there is the charming barn - a blank canvas you'll hardly need to decorate, thanks to its honey stone walls, ancient wooden beams and garden views.

Domaine d’Essendiéras Domaine d'Essendiéras has to be one of the most immaculate of all South of France chateau wedding venues. The castle itself is perfect, towering three storeys high with steep, romantic rooflines and fairy-tale turrets. Manicured gardens and water features surround the chateau, bringing your vision of a romantic chateau wedding to life. There's no shortage of luxurious accommodation on site for your friends and family to stay, and the spa makes the perfect pre-wedding treat. Le Chateau Charmant Bordered by billowing flower beds and iconic cypress trees, Marry Me in France's Le Chateau Charmant fulfils your every chateau dream. Invite 70 of your favourite people to celebrate with you inside the glamorous chateau. Or, why not spread into the barns for a bigger bash? The gardens ooze romance and I'm a particular fan of outdoor receptions held under the trees...
