I am Lydia Taylor Jones, a fun friendly wedding photographer in the South West of France.

If you are a fun loving couple and want your photographs to reflect you and your personalities then I am your photographer. I promise not to make you stand round for hours with a fake smile and cheesy poses. I want your wedding photographs to be different, to stand out and be all about you and your story.

Most of the couples I talk to start off worrying:

Will our wedding photos capture who we really are?

Will our images be unique to us – or look like every other wedding out there?

Will we look as uncomfortable as we feel in front of a camera?

What I want for you is to enjoy your day, enjoy the people you invited, enjoy the food and drink you planned, enjoy each other and let me capture all that joy for you. Whilst your enjoying yourself I get to take great photos. Someone said 'everyone at your weddings always look like they're having such a great time'. This was the best thing anyone could ever say to me about my work. It's exactly what I aim for! Coupes always asks what can we do to get great photos - the best thing anyone can do is relax and have the best time ever and trust your photographer to do the rest.

Omg I went to the wrong venue! Didn’t have my camera and worst of all I was naked!! Yes it’s that time of year when the nightmare dreams kick in 🫣 and I wake up in a sweat with relief it’s not true. Wedding season starts next weekend so time for checking cameras, cleaning kit and defo making sure I have clothes to wear.

I’m either jet lagged, have covid or having alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Feel rotten! Thank goodness I live in the beautiful south west of France and have a summer full of days like these to look forward too.

When I was getting married I immediately thought back to this wedding and their fabulous sharing platters by the amazing @chezamiscatering_dordogne. We were very lucky to have her to do the food at our wedding she’s always amazing. She mostly works now at the stunning @chateaudelavalouze. If I was to list the worst job in the world for me it would be caterer (I have many many culinary disasters stories) but somehow she always has a smile on her face and the atmosphere in her kitchen is always such fun! I sometimes go hide there and steal food if it’s a long day lol. She’s amazing ❤️

I’m off to check it isn’t alcohol withdrawal and the only way to do that is have a glass isn’t it! Feeling brighter already mmmm 🤣

I recently got interviewed for a French magazine - famous or what! The question was - ‘what makes weddings in France so amazing?’ To be honest there are so many reasons from the amazing venues, the value for money - you can pretty much have a weekend for the same price as a day back home, the food and wine, the awesome photographers 😉 and other suppliers who really are some of the best I have worked with and of course the amazing French light. Any talk of golden light just takes me back to this wedding for the fabulous @abinewell and @mehdihamma. At all the weddings you will find me on the look out for these perfect moments so if I come and whisper please please just give me 10/15 mins and let’s go and dance in that golden light. I think a little bit of wee came out when I walked into the room and saw these dresses. Thankfully they were also such a fab fun group of girls and boys, we had such a brilliant day. Jealous of those bm dresses - I was a bridesmaids when I was 15 and forced to wear a red gingham dress with matching hair band. Talking of dreams I went to Wagamamas and fell in love with Thai food and now I’m booked to go to Thailand! Bit extreme to get a good noodle dish but am super excited/terrified. So if anyone has any top tips to avoid being eaten by an alligator, chucked in a prison, food poisoned or any other calamity I am stressing over would appreciate it! I’m not a natural traveler so this is huge for me. Can’t wait though. How brave am I!

Lucky to be alive - I got the flu. Horrendous! Only thing I could keep down were Haribo Starmix which proves what I’ve always known about the delicate flavors of the egg, the ring and the squidgy love heart not forgetting the cute bites size teddy bears (careful which bit you eat first). Full of goodness and life saving flavors - knew it!

So just about feeling human and back answering emails and lots of lovely inquires. Excited to send out questionnaires to all my 2025 couples and see what I have in store for a fun filled summer of weddings. Can’t wait! ❤️

It’s Xmas time - yes yes you know the rest of it. Honestly I have had such a fabulous season and wanted to take this time to say thank you. Oh yes and I got married too lol but it’s been one of my fave years for so many reasons. Met so many fabulous people and had the most adorable couples. I am hoping this is because I am attracting the couples that suit my style and we make a good fit. I adore weddings when the couples want to have the best day in their own way and trust me to capture that for them. To capture the glamour, the romance, the friendships, the families and all the fun and stories of their day. I bloody love it and hope this shines through in my work. This review (thank you @kelliebrown123 ❤️) is everything I could ever wish for and everything I want to give to my lovely couples. My second home - I’ve been SO lucky this season to photograph weddings at this stunning venue. It just shows that even tho the venue is just the same each wedding has its own personality. It amazes me how the personality of a couple puts such a stamp on a wedding atmosphere. I can usually tell within 10 mins of walking in the bridal suite what sort of wedding it’s going to be. Sometimes (not very often lol) the room is all tidy and everything in it’s place and I think ooo this is going to be all perfectly timed and a super sweet day. Other times it looks like the party already happened and I need a lie down even before I start 🤣 empty champagne bottles, half eaten croissants, thongs (both sorts ;) and total carnage lol. I love them all and approach each one with open eyes to capture who you are. I really hope this shows in my photography because it means so much to me.

What a day - what a couple and such a fab group of people. We had sun, rain, thunder and lightening which with this crowd just added even more energy and fun into the mix. Ended up wandering down the road stopping and chatting to all the French drivers. Lots of oui oui oui and nodding of heads 🤣🤣 so funny. A truly fabulous day that resulted in my throat totally closing up on the drive home and couldn’t speak for 3 days 🤣 Sign of a good wedding!

Back to the glam of this stunning wedding. I am known for relaxed fun wedding photography and I love that style but I also do know most couples want some glam to bring out the best in them. I know how to use good light and the best backdrops and then relax you both enough to just be you in front of the camera. No stiff poses just be you and show you as you really are, the very best version on your wedding day.

I arrive at every wedding not with a shot list but with open eyes and heart capturing the day just how you wanted it to be. It’s your day, your favorite people and an atmosphere you have created. I know the planning that goes into that and I do my very best to deliver photos that bring all those elements together.

Funny, scary, emotional, silly, romantic - a wedding are all those things and I want to capture it all for you. That’s my job - your job for the day is to relax and have the best day ever ❤️ can you tell these two did just that!

The beautiful light at this stunning venue. A fabulous day for a couple all the way from down under. Never seen so many children and Nannie’s but the grown ups made sure they made the most of it and had a fabulous time. Was one I wished I could have stayed to see what they all got up too!
