Haribo French fried eggs are different to English ones! I never knew that till Easter when our UK friends and eggs collided. After a very serious (and highly professional) taste test, the verdict was unanimous: the French ones are superior. Squishier. Tastier. A clear win. We did the same with red wine only we only had the French variety 🤣

And honestly… shall I tell you what else the French do better?

• I don’t charge the highest prices in the industry — not because I don’t value what I do, but because I do. I want couples to have space to breathe in their budget and still have their story captured beautifully.

• So many of my couples turn into real friendships. The kind where we keep in touch, where I get updates on babies, houses, life… not just wedding galleries.

• Other suppliers are genuinely happy to see me on a wedding day. There’s no ego, just good energy, teamwork, and a shared love of making something special.

I genuinely get to work in some of the most beautiful places with the loveliest humans and chateau dog in this case ❤️ — and I don’t take that for granted for a second.

Weddings at this gorgeous family-run château, not far from the wine capital of the world, Bordeaux, are always something special. The whole place has been lovingly restored and you can feel the owners’ heart and soul in every little corner. It’s warm, welcoming, full of character… and basically made for big celebrations.

My kind of place: sunshine, happy people,, loads of laughter and glasses clinking in the sunshine. My job is just to wander around with a camera, blend into the party, and capture all the good stuff as it unfolds — the hugs, the tears, the big moments and the little in-between ones no one even realises are happening.

Feeling the love all the way over here in my little corner of France 🇫🇷. So many beautiful weddings already in the diary for 2026/27 and I couldn’t be more excited.

This is also the time of year when the classic wedding-photographer nightmares begin… turning up at the wrong venue, cameras refusing to work, oversleeping… and the absolute worst one: arriving in my crocs and pyjamas.

Thankfully, reality looks a little different — lists are made, camera gear triple-checked, timelines organised and lots of excited planning calls in the diary.

And honestly… there’s something pretty magical about knowing that soon couples will be flying in from all over the world to celebrate love in the French countryside — long tables under the trees, château sunsets, champagne flowing and a whole weekend that feels like a dream destination escape. ✨🥂

I can’t wait for it all to begin.

The first time I arrived at this venue I genuinely just stood there like… well this is a bit special and seeing how very spoilt I am that takes a lot.

It is absolutely gorgeous. So many different spots to use for your wedding — you could have a completely different vibe every hour. And yes… it even has its own lake! Add to that a stunning pool area and nearby vineyard and you can see why it ticks all the boxes for a fabulous destination wedding venue.

The owners are clearly so proud of their home (and rightly so). Imagine wandering around these grounds every day and calling it chez nous.

Scorcher of a dayyyyy ☀️

Oooo how I LOVE this venue. It’s home to the fabulous Sarah — owner of this fabulous chateau the biggest smile and the BEST hugs. She somehow makes every wedding feel effortless and look incredible… even when it’s pushing 40 degrees 🥵

There were fans, fizz, shady corners… and one very funny moment involving the bride airing her bits 🤣 (iconic behaviour, honestly). Yes I did take a turn.

Can you tell how much fun they had? The heat didn’t stand a chance.

All about me…

I left school at 16 with zero qualifications.

I was brought up as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses - yes I WAS a very good girl. I was told I wouldn’t need school or a career because the end of the world was imminent. No need for qualifications when Armageddon is around the corner, right?

I believed it.

I became a pioneer (yes… I knocked on doors - a lot! ). I married at 18 — the norm — and had my two gorgeous babies. I stayed home as a mum and honestly loved it.

But when my youngest was about to start school and the world still hadn’t ended… I realised I needed a Plan B.

I enrolled to study business. That summer, at a friend’s wedding (my kids were flower girl and page boy), I got chatting to the photographer and basically was THAT annoying guest lol following him round.

After telling him what to do all day he said, “You should do this. You’ve got something”

So I switched to photography — and fell completely under its spell. Darkroom hours. Photoshop marathons. Saving for my first camera and obsessing over it when it was finally mine.

Six months later I saw an advert: “Do you want to be a wedding photographer?”

YES YES YES

I trained. Then shot my first wedding.

I can’t begin to tell you how Photography changed my life — the people in my life , the places, the life it’s afforded me and the privilege of being trusted with moments that matter.

Being honest I started to take it for granted. Then Covid happened… and I realized just how much of me is wrapped up in being a photographer. I promised myself if I ever got the chance again, I’d never take it for granted.

Lucky me. I’m back — and I love it more than ever.

Every enquiry. Every couple who chooses me. Thank you ❤️ — from an ex-JW who once thought her life plan was waiting for Armageddon.

(Though I still get slightly nervous when it thunders ⛈️😂)

Oh and PS I had an adorable third child much later just incase my two eldest read this and tell him he’s not part of my story. 🤣🤣

Wedding unicorn, anyone? 🦄

One wedding I shot here casually turned into a full circus. We had fire eaters, knife throwing, acrobats and yes… a unicorn.

Before you get too excited — it was technically a white horse in a very convincing hat. 10/10 performance from the obliging horse, sorry unicorn.

This one’s so huge I’m adding “5k training” to my pre-wedding prep. Acres of dreamy grounds, a beautiful château, the prettiest courtyard, AND a natural pool for the perfect afternoon apéros vibe.

I’m obsessed with shooting weddings here ❤️. The chateau is huge and every corner holds a new surprise. The light is always changing and photographing there a few times you get to know the golden spots both inside the chateau and in the grounds. This is that kind of wedding venue that seems to attract the full on party couples. I always need a day before to get ready… and a day after to recover 😅 because Manoir de Longeveau is basically a wedding and holiday rolled into one.

Gîtes with their own pools, tennis courts, golf, loads more to do on site — your guests can enjoy the venue around the wedding day. If you like exploring the nearby area, Aubeterre (one of my all-time fave Dordogne villages) is just around the corner.

Golden hour here is stunning. The light rolls across the valley and it’s the perfect moment to sneak away for dreamy couple photos before the dance floor chaos begins.
I love photographing weddings here because you truly get it all. My style of informal and fun but romantic makes it’s a venue I always look forward too shooting at. Just give me a few days to recover ;)

Can we talk about this venue for a sec? The first time I turned up, I may have… hid in the toilets for a minute just to compose myself 🫣. I mean, come on… that staircase? Honestly, it has to be THE staircase in the Dordogne (sorry, other staircases).

Being here, you can really feel the history—the stories, the people, the moments that have passed through these halls. Can’t wait to be back this year for more stunning weddings. Feeling so lucky to do what I do, and even luckier to work in places like this.

She’s back …. Is it 2026! Yes it is and that means another summer full of weddings like these. Thought I would do a few posts to highlight some of the venues I get to work at and then you can hate me and think what a spoilt photographer I really am. I’m originally from Bolton and don’t get me wrong Bolton does have lots of nice areas, yes it does! ;) but I never thought I would ever get to work in such a beautiful area with so many stunning venues.

So I start with @chateaudestpaul not far from Bergerac. I love this venue even tho it’s actually one of the furthest I travel too. It’s got everything you would want for a wedding venue. A chateau with its own chapel, two gorgeous court yards, a stunning barn and the bedrooms are all super tasteful and modern. The owners are just wonderful and behind the scenes work so hard to make sure their couples have the best time. The grounds are pristine and every time I go there is a new flower in bloom to make each wedding unique and the views over the countryside are just stunning. Sometimes there are sunflowers nearby! Whether you want a garden style wedding or super glam it’s just a stunning venue.

When it’s all about family and friends ❤️ and also dodging the dodgy weather too 🥴. Thankfully the wind blew away the promised storm and the sun shone. Sometimes a couple will say we really don’t want to be stood around taking pics we want to enjoy our day. I love this approach! Everything was so natural and genuine from walking down the aisle with baby with her bottle to including all the children in the fun. They made it a real family and friends affair and I just loved it.

38d bloody bring it on 🔥 sizzling hot day for this sizzling hot couple. The groom had a house (like you do;) over the hill from the venue so it was adorable that we could take pics with it in the background. It’s been a family holiday home for years so was a memorable one for so many reasons. And yes that was actually the moon or was it the sun! 🥴🤣 I’m now sat in my oversized jumper and comfy socks so thinking back to the heat of this day feels insane lol. It’s a cosy time of year tho isn’t it plus a hot chocolate and biccy supper and I am a happy bunny.
